Any good Liberal Arts colleges in Atlanta, GA(or surrounding communites)?
Does anyone know of any good liberal arts colleges in Atl? Preferably one with a good acting/theatre department. Affordable yearly rates(less than 30,000) and a good reputation. Diversity is a plus. Please give me anything you know.
Atlanta has several good colleges: Emory University and Georgia State University are the largest. I’m sure they’d have a wide variety of majors from which to choose, and, for the most part, they are quite diverse. However, since you are an African American female, you should really consider Spelman, an all-female, historically black college. Don’t be dismayed by the fact that it’s all-female; all-male Morehouse is literally across the street and it’s in a quad with several other colleges (Clark Atlanta University and Morris Brown College). Spelman has a great tradition and has been ranked as one of the best colleges in the Southeast by Money Magazine. The school also boasts some great alumni, from noted author Alice Walker (author of The Color Purple) to countless other journalists, doctors, and other successful black women (see http://www.hbcunetwork.com/modules/Leadership/notablealumni/byschool.cfm?school_name=Spelman%20College).
